Meet Emily

Emily founded Novate Legal in January 2019 with the intention of providing a singular point of contact for businesses and individuals moving into Canada. She noticed her clients were frustrated by a lack of understanding, support, and true interest in assisting them build a successful business and life in Canada. By providing her clients with both business and immigration services, Emily aims to do more than just deliver legal services, but to become your advocate and trusted advisor as you settle into your new venture. She knows that her clients need more than just a lawyer that can do the job well, but someone who understands context and is driven to find workable solutions that truly fit.

Emily spent the first three years of her practice on the East Coast of Canada, where she worked with the Government of Newfoundland & Labrador and respected regional firms. Here she focused on working with businesses of all sizes, from start-ups to multi-national companies, providing them with corporate, immigration, and IP services. In 2016 she moved home to Toronto and has since been working as virtual in-house counsel for entrepreneurs, SMEs, and law firms on a project basis.
